Engineering & Projects

Thanks to its engineering and technology know-how, Granit develops specifc projects in order to meet local environmental needs by using efficient flows of local resources.

The strategic vision of Granit includes the creation of an international network for the local promotion of environmental technologies. This network will be used to promote Granit own technologies and also other non competing technologies offered by partner companies to make use locally of local sustainable resources.

The networking strategy includes three activities:

(1) The SESEC symposiums (www.sesec.org)

Five symposiums have been organized since 2001 in Lausanne, Switzerland. The next symposium (SESEC VI) is scheduled for October 30th to November 1st 2007.

(2) The Environmental Technology Center of Orbe (www.tecorbe.com)

The construction of the second phase of the Technology Center (Technopole) in Orbe has started in 2007. Granit is promoting the creation of similar centers in many regions around the world to build a large network of expertise and promotional sites which bring local adapted solutions to environmental challenges. The centers will host different companies specialized in various environmental technologies.

(3) The International Federation of Green Regions - IFGRA (www.sesec.org) (www.ifgra.org is under construction)

The Federation (created on the 25th of June 2007), will be officially presented at SESEC VI on November 1st 2007. It will group many regions around the world which will commit to take concrete measures to reduce the environmental impact of the activities hosted in the region. The data bank of the Federation will supply to its members models of the best practices applied to face locally environmental challenges.
