The Group History

Granit SA was founded in 1971 by Dr Alain Jenny to act as an incubator between research and industry. Granit has successfully participated to the development of technologies to industrial and commercial level. Many of those development have lead to new independant companies. Among others:

Granit SA has participated to many integrated R&D programs financed by Swiss and European funds.

Granit SA has created in 1986 Y-Parc, the Technology Park of Western Switzerland in Yverdon-les-Bains.

Granit SA has created the international symposium SESEC (Swiss Environmental Solutions for Emerging Countries). Five symposiums have been held since 2001 at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne with the participation of decision-makers presenting demands for solutions, industrial leaders representing potential solutions and finance experts.

Granit SA has created in 2005 the Environmental Technology Center (Technopole) in Orbe, Switzerland, the first brick of the construction of the International Green Centers Network.

Granit SA has created in June 2007 the International Federation of Green Regions (IFGRA).
